Sunil and Nisha’s wedding was definitely one of the most special Indian weddings that we ever covered. Nisha, who is an extremely bubbly bride, and Sunil the ever cool-looking groom, decided to throw a destination wedding to their close friends and family members at the enchanted island of Koh Samui.

With the family members “hijacking” the Firefly plane to have a pre-wedding party, to the surprise grand “march-in” on elephant, pyrokinesis stunning the guess, and all of that happend under the one-in-a-thousand year Moon eclipse over looking the beach reception. Did i tell you that its a mix wedding with Hindu ceremony as well as Sikh?

Still remember when we received one of the early wedding enquiries from India at the beginning of 2011, we were all shocked and excited (at least, we know that our work has been recognized internationally). It was then later that we had another surprise that this wedding was actually a very grand and splendid wedding!

This was wedding of Viral, the son of Mr. Ajay Chopra, who runs one of the top advertising agency in India. It was a 5 days wedding event, where each of everyday was full of surprises, with the main theme of the wedding “LOVE”! We were inspired how people from the creative industry planned their wedding, not by just having nicely decorated wedding, but each events that happened was backed with the concepts that relate back to elements of life; love, peace, nature, and even cultures, just exactly like how the advertising people would plan for their commercial clients! These concepts added a lot values to the wedding events, making it far more meaningful. Did I tell you that Viral’s family spent 7 months in clearing and building superb landscape to their farm house that of the size of few football fields for one of the receptions? Well, it was until the day before, that we were again surprised by Mr. Ajay that one of the most renown artists in India, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, would be performing in the reception at the farm house. He is famous for his outstanding vocal range that can hit deep into one’s soul. Well he did ‘hit’ it deep on us, and we fell in love with his voices and Qawwali songs during the reception itself!

High profile guests and celebrities like Raghu Rai (a legendary photographer and photojournalist in India from Magnum Photo), Javed Akthar (a super famous poet, lyricist and scriptwriter from India), Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, Abbas Attar (the most influential Iranian photojournalist) and many many more!

Again, we congratulate Viral & Swati for having one of the most successful large scale wedding events by Crayon Advertising and also really thankful for great hospitality throughout our whole COLOMONIANS, wonderful and unforgettable journey!

“The Japanese Bride”- Maiko and Khar Eee 11.11.11 ( Same Day Edit and Highlights)

YUP !!! It’s Daaa date!!! 11.11.11 , an amazing day at an amazing place! Colomonians travelled to Langkawi Four Seasons Resort to document our first beach wedding cinematography. Besides that we were also the official photographers to document this splendid wedding! Filled with adrenaline rush and burning desires, we witness one of the most graceful wedding ceremonies with guests and family members flying in from all over the world. Beach weddings are truly romantic, nothing beats the sound of the breeze and the showering sea, the softness of the sand and its white and blueish background. Like the saying goes, “Just like paradise…” , Maiko, our japanese bride who was also a full time professional photographer (speciallised in F3 racing coverage!), flew all the way from London to this very heavenly destination with Khar Ee, our charming chinese groom from Alor Setar. They were meant for each other and you can tell from the first sight in this video. Colomono Studio bringing you one of our finest videos in 2011. Enjoy!

Colomono Studio is currently on assignment in Rajasthan for 18 days again in October 2011. This 2nd half of assignment requires us to travel Chittogarh, Ranakpur, Kumbalgarh, Udaipur, Mount Abu, Johdpur, Ranthambore, and of course Jaipur! This is the 2nd half of the assignment (first in August 2011) for the government of Rajasthan, India.

During the 3rd day of our assignment, we had the chance to be at Monsoon Palace of Udaipur. We always thought that Udaipur is the “Venice of the East” but somehow the hilly scenic view of Udaipur made us feel that, it is also the ‘Grand Canyon of the East’!

WPPI International Photography Contest

For all the hard works, it finally pays off! WPPI International Competition, 3200 image entries from all around the world, Wills Canon an extreme passionate Pets Lover wins himself a SECOND PLACE under Animals/Pets category for his “Happy Pets Family” shot and also under Engagement Category, Wills Canon scored another Accolade of Excellence award for his India, Taj Mahal shot. Again very good job to fellow COLOMONIANS, Wills Canon and his team will pop the champaign tonight, Hurray!

Celebrating Daniel and Chloe

Daniel Wee is an Executive Producer (www.montecom.tv) at Monte Com and he has produced and directed quite a number of programs and commercials here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

So, when Daniel approached us for a pre-wedding session for him and his wife, we knew we were going to be challenged by the standard and requirement set by him. He wanted something that was completely different, fun yet classy at the same time! So, we sat down and finally came up with a series of concept which would be shot in Penang specifically for him. Since he was very much into the film industry, the theme and concept that we conjured up for him was to be shot entirely in an old heritage cinema! Well, it turned out to be lots of fun indeed!

Jerry & Nicole Wedding Photo Slide-Show

Jerry’s an Art Director in one of the longest history of Advertising Agency, KenRay which located in Penang Island, Malaysia. When I first met Jerry, there is a feeling that I can’t really express it in words. I was graduated as a Graphic Design student back in the UK, and KenRay is the first company I ever interviewed the day when I was back in the island for good. Well, obviously I didnt get through it and was ended up in a Bridal House working as an assistant. 4 years after, becoming who I am now, today, a professional photographer, me and Jay was hired to shoot Jerry’s wedding by coinsident, as Jerry is actually one of the COLOMONIAN, Jay’s previous client’s best friend! Life, it seems like its already been organized and destined. It somehow, reminds me that, ya, being in the photography industry is what I have been really dreaming of since I was still a little child.

Jerry and Nicole’s wedding is simple, I would say the simplest wedding I have ever attend. It’s very down to earth, yet interesting and it’s a total different experience. Good people with warmth heart. “Congrats again to Jerry and Nicole, great personality and love u all!”
